, is a board-certified surgeon specializing in the management of chest and vascular disease. He attended St. Peter's College in New Jersey, graduating in 1971 with a B.S. in Biology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 1977.
Dr. Zolli completed his general surgery residency in 1981 at the Jersey City Medical Center (NJ). His cardiovascular thoracic residency followed at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), completed in 1983. Following a specialty period at Baylor University and Texas Heart Institute, he was appointed to the faculty at UMDNJ from 1983-1986, serving as Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery.
He has practiced cardiovascular and thoracic surgery in Lorain County since 1986. He is a member of numerous societies including:
Dr. Zolli was the first Chief of Staff of Community Health Partners from 1994-1996. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at CHP.
Dr. Zolli performed the first video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) procedure in Lorain County in 1991. He remains the only thoracic surgeon in Lorain County to perform VATS. In addition, he is the first and only vascular surgeon to perform carotid artery stenting (starting in 1995) and endovascular abdominal aortic repair (EVAR), starting in 2004.
Among his clinical interests are the minimally invasive vascular procedures to improve circulation to the legs: angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy and thrombolysis; vena caval filter surgery; the challenging field of wound care - a service provided at the CHP Wound Care Center; and minimally invasive chest surgeries for both benign and malignant diseases.
Since 1990, Dr. Zolli has provided over 25,000 office visits and over 7,000 total surgeries to the greater Lorain County population. |
